Glastonbury and Pilton Wildlife Sanctuary is a Non-Profit Voluntary Organisation created and run by Volunteers.
We are a designated Wildlife Sanctuary and Nature Reserve situated alongside Glastonbury Festival.
We are also a member of Somerset’s Private Nature Reserves Network, which is an organisation consisting of over 200 private and community owned nature reserves.
Our volunteers are primarily individuals who suffer with “Fibromyalgia” a condition that causes widespread chronic pain along with other physical and mental health symptoms. You can learn more about this condition on our fibromyalgia page.
Our ethos is twofold, to help Local Wildlife and its Habitats whilst providing our volunteers with an opportunity to improve their activity, function, health and wellbeing, despite suffering from this debilitating chronic condition.
Our long term aim is to create a network of routes throughout the extended local area of Glastonbury Festival to act as corridors that wildlife can utilise to quickly and safely relocate with as little stress as possible. These routes will then facilitate and encourage local wildlife to return once viable.
Please visit our projects page to see how we think this is achievable.
We are in “No Way Opposed” to “Glastonbury Festival.
It is an iconic event of “Huge Cultural Significance”
Ultimately it's about everyone's enjoyment of wildlife and nature as well as popular culture.
We hope that everyone will work together to foster mutual understanding and
support local wildlife and its habitats

Thanks for your interest.
